PURPOSE: To enhance the comfort in sitting in a car cabin by furnishing a pump drive resistance controlling means, which generates gradually the drive resistance for an oil pressure pump when brake operation is sensed by a brake operation sensing means.
CONSTITUTION: When brake operation is performed, engine brake is applied, and a drive resistance for an oil pressure pump is generated, which increases the braking force and suppresses rotation of wheels to lead to braking the car. The drive resistance is generated mildly owing to a pump drive resistance controlling means and increased gradually to reach a certain level. Therefore, there is no fear of generating a large drive resistance suddenly different from the case where an oil pressure pump is connected with a drive force transmitting means through an electromagnetic clutch, nor any impact to be generated when operation of oil pressure pump is going to be commenced.
