Title:
BRAKE DEVICE FOR FURNITURE LIFTING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001204555
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a brake device for a furniture lifting apparatus capable of surely holding a movable frame stopped in a certain position during rising or falling and surely preventing a rack frame from falling by its own weight to prevent stored articles from flipping out and assure safety for operators.

The movable frame is vertically movably supported on a fixed frame. A rotating shaft is supported in such a manner that it rotates as the movable frame moves. First and second torsion springs wound in different directions with respect to the axis of the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft are wound on the outer peripheral surface while being elastically deformed, so that rotation of the rotating shaft is normally braked by the elastic forces of the springs. The first and second torsion springs are elastically deformed in the diameter-increasing direction by a brake releasing means so as to weaken the force of pressure contact against the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft so as to enable rotation of the rotating shaft.
