To provide a brake device of a single-rail carrier reciprocally traveling on an inclined ground which is capable of reliably applying the brake when necessary.
In the brake device of a single-rail carrier, the single-rail carrier reciprocatively travels on a track provided on an inclined ground in the upward gradient on the whole from a starting point to a terminating point by rolling wheels in a predetermined direction. The rotation of the wheels is transmitted to a braking mechanism by constituting a power transmission path. A one-way clutch which uncouples the power transmission from the power transmission path in the outgoing mode and couples the power transmission in the returning mode is interposed.
