Abstract:
To provide a simple but effective braking device for a trolley, which can be operated by a user in one movement and without bending down.SOLUTION: A trolley 10 for medical equipment comprises a base 16 mounted on a plurality of wheels 20. A brake device 12 comprises at least one deformable brake pad located beneath the base 16 of the trolley 10. A release mechanism is provided to move the brake pad between a raised position in which it is spaced above a floor surface on which the wheels 20 of the trolley 10 are supported, and a lowered position in which the brake pad is pressed against the floor surface under the weight of the brake device 12 to exert a braking force on the trolley 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
