Abstract:
To provide a brake disc which can increase bonding strength between an aluminum alloy base material and a hardened layer.
In this brake disc 4, formed with a hardened layer 14 serving as a friction surface in an outer surface of a disc main unit 10 consisting of aluminum alloy, the disc main unit 10, formed by forge molding of aluminum alloy, has a grain flow a spread radially from the center part, when the disc main unit 10, in a section traversing its grain flow a, is observed in a direction of the grain flow, irregularity is present in an interface between the disc main unit 10 and the hardened layer 14.
