PURPOSE: To make it possible to reduce the pulsation of fluid without leakage by incorporating a pressure-balance chamber having a flexible wall which expands and contracts in response with the pulsation of the fluid and executing cross-flow filtration via a narrow passage in contact with a filter membrane.
CONSTITUTION: Filter means 3 and 4 are placed above a discharge means 11. The build-ups 15 of a distribution plate means 5 which is placed above these filter means 3 and 4 and guides the fluid through the passages defined by the elongated build-ups 15 formed by a distribution means in a tangent direction on the filter means 3 and 4 come into substantially contact with the main surfaces of the filter means 3 and 4. Pressure is generated in the pressure- balance chamber 26 which is placed on the distribution means and is connected to the passages through a port 19 formed in the distribution means by introducing the fluid into the pressure-balance chamber 26 through a second port means 25 connected to the pressure-balance chamber 26 and a flexible wall means 7 is disposed therein. Consequently, the maximum permissible fluid flow rate may be permitted.
