To reduce unnecessary pressure reduction in a rear wheel side during ABS control and secure proper braking force in a brake hydraulic pressure controller controlling front and rear braking force distribution.
In the brake hydraulic pressure controller provided with a front and rear braking force distribution control function, whether it during braking or not is determined (step 620), and front and rear braking force distribution control is started when wheel acceleration and deceleration dVWRR and dVWRL of a rear wheel during braking becomes smaller than predetermined thresholds G1RR and G1RL. Since the front and rear braking force distribution control can be started on the basis of only the wheel acceleration and deceleration dVWRR and dVWRL changing rapidly following rise of W/C pressure, responsiveness delay can be minimized without impairing braking force. By this, the unnecessary pressure reduction of the rear wheel side during the ABS control can be reduced and the proper braking force can be secured.
