PURPOSE: To manually release an electromagnetic brake safely with a simple operation regardless of the abnormality of an electric system by connecting a manual mechanism fitted to the electormagnetic brake braking a driving machine when de-excited and releasing it when excited and an operation section provided near the outer face of a main frame with a transmitting mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: In a conveyor constituted of a main frame 1 circulation-movably provided with an endless footboard chain, a driving machine 6 coupled with the footboard chain at the longitudinal intermediate section of the main frame 1, and an electromagnetic brake 6d, a manual release operating mechanism 7 is fitted to the electromagnetic brake 6d. Transmitting mechanisms 9a-9e, one end of which is connected to the manual mechanism 7 and the other end is connected to an operation section provided near the outer face of the main frame 1, are provided. When the operation section is operated, the manual mechanism 7 is operated via the transmitting mechanism 9, and the electromagnetic brake 6d is released.
