PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake mechanism of an opening/closing member capable of braking motions from the start of opening to the completion of opening of the opening/closing member and a cup holder and an automobile door with the same with a simple structure and at a low cost.
SOLUTION: Rotary dampers 60 are disposed on both sides of a main body 12, and an arm 54 with slots 62 and 64 through which shafts 48 and 50 can slide are fixed to the rotation shaft 66 of each rotary damper 60. When the shaft 48 moves in a branch 43B, the movement of the arm 54 is permitted by the slot 64 formed in the arm 54 via the slot 64 with the shaft 50 as the pivot and the arm 54 is rotated in the direction of the arrow A. As a result, since the sliding resistance of the sliding of the slot 64 with the shaft 50 as the pivot and the braking force of the arm 54 itself can be utilized as well as the sliding resistance of the shaft 48 sliding inside the slot 62, the energizing force of a spring 56 for opening a lid 14 can be braked with a simple structure and at a low cost.
