Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake mechanism of a wire reel which is braked simultaneously with the finish of wire feeding.
SOLUTION: Recessed parts are formed in a superposing surface between a brake means 14 and a brake driving gear 12, a steel ball is arranged in a space part formed between both recessed parts, a bottom surface of one recessed part of the brake driving gear 12 and the brake means 14 is formed into a tapered surface inclining in the thickness direction. When the brake driving gear 12, which follows up with the beginning of twist of the wire after finishing wire feeding, is rotated, the steel ball is moved along the tapered surface by the recessed part moving in the rotational direction. Whereby, the brake means 14 is moved along the direction of a shaft 13 of the brake driving gear 12 and engaged with the peripheral edge part of the wire reel 2, the rotation of the wire reel 2 is braked, and the engagement between the brake means 14 and the peripheral edge part of the wire reel 2 is released when the brake driving gear 12 is inversely rotated after finishing the twist of the wire.
