To provide a metal mold of a brake pad friction material for optimizing physical properties of friction materials of both end parts of a brake pad, a manufacturing device, a manufacturing method, a preform, and the brake pad.SOLUTION: A metal mold of a brake pad friction material comprises: a metal mold member which is fit to a mold form into which a powder material of the brake pad friction material is inputted; and a pressing face for forming a region abutting on the powder material inputted into the mold form of a surface of the metal mold, being a recessed pressing face which is gradually recessed as going toward a center part side from both end-part sides of the pressing face.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
