Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve wear-resistance of a brake pad by providing a pad having the pressing surface in which the central portion and peripheral portion thereof are formed of materials different in wear-resistance. CONSTITUTION:A pad 2 joined to a metallic support 3 has both end portions 2a or a peripheral edge portion 2a formed by material having a hardness of HR15X .80-150 and the central portion 2b formed by material having a hardness of HR15X.40-80, which are solidly formed in inner and outer shell two-layers. In this arrangement, when piston P pressing is conducted through a support 3 during brake damping, the forward end portion 2a of the pad 2 with respect to the rotating direction of a disc 1 intercepts entering of mud by its wear-resistance.
