Title:
BRAKE PEDAL DETACHING STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3965852
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a brake pedal from projecting and moving onto the cabin side when a pedal bracket is moved onto the cabin side.
SOLUTION: A brake booster is mounted on the engine room side of a dashboard panel to provide a master cylinder, and the pedal bracket is mounted on the cabin side of the dashboard panel. The pedal bracket is mounted to an upper panel detachably when the pedal bracket is moved onto the cabin side, and an arm boss part of a pedal arm is journalled to a pedal shaft fitted to the pedal bracket. A lever boss part of a rod lever connected to a push rod is journalled to the pedal shaft so as to be axially movable and detachably engaged with the arm boss part. A spacer is provided to be engaged with the pedal shaft so as to maintain engagement between the arm boss part and the lever boss part to thereby impede the axial movement of the lever boss part, and to be released from engagement to allow the movement of the pedal shaft when the pedal bracket is moved onto the cabin side. An elastic member for imparting resilience in an engagement release direction is provided between the arm boss part and the lever boss part.
