Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a brake drum, by providing the peripheral part of the open end section of the brake drum with an engaged part which is engaged on the inside surface of a case, so that the case bears the pressure of a piston under braking action. CONSTITUTION:When a brake B2 is applied, prescribed liquid pressure supplied into a cylinder 21 pushes a piston 22 to displace it toward an open end. At that time, a friction plate 26 is pinched by a pressure contact plate 24, a pressure plate 25, etc. to brake the rotation of braked members (carrier C1 and ring gear R2) and the thrust of the piston 22 is received by the pressure plate 25 and applied to a case 10 through a retaining ring and the engaged part 29 of the open end section of a brake drum 20. As a result, the case 10 bears the reaction thrust of the piston 22.
