Abstract:

To provide a braking device which is excellent in energy absorption performance, can be repeatedly used, and can shorten a length in an action direction of external force.SOLUTION: A braking device 1 for absorbing energy generated by external force includes: a pair of first sliders 2A, 2A moving in an action direction of the external force; a pair of second sliders 2B, 2B moving by action of external force in a direction opposite from the action direction; a spring 3 having an extension/contraction direction almost orthogonal to the action direction; a core material 4; and a body 5 for fixing both ends of the core material. When the external force is applied to the first slider or the second slider and the slider is moved, the spring is contracted accordingly, and at the same time, energy absorption by sliding is performed between the first slider and the second slider, and between the first slider and the spring or between the second slider and the body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
