To provide a bicycle parking device capable of smoothly braking and stopping a traveling body at a short distance and of easily and quickly canceling a braking condition.
On a rail 4 placed on a ground surface 11, the travelling body 2 on which a braking device 1 is provided travels with wheels 5. The braking device 1 has flexible and resilient gearing members 6 to be displaced and bitten between the rail 4 and the wheel 5 to establish a braking condition. A displacement driving means 8 is provided for canceling the braking condition. The gearing members 6 are provided on the downstream side in the traveling direction of the traveling body 2 relative to contact positions P where the wheels 5 contact the rail 4 so as to approach and leave the contact positions P. The displacement driving means 8 displaces the gearing members 6 over between a lowering position in contact with a traveling surface 7 of the rail 4 and a rising position apart from the traveling surface 7 of the rail 4. When the gearing members 6 are arranged at the lowering position and the traveling body 2 travels in the traveling direction, the gearing members 6 are bitten between the rail 4 and the wheel 5 to brake the traveling body 2.
