To provide a braking device for a motor to reduce the number of parts, simplify structure, and besides to facilitate manufacture, reduce a manufacturing cost, and to provide excellent practical ability.
A body part 2 of a motor 1 is formed approximately in a columnar shape and a brake disc 5 in the periphery of which teeth 4, 4... are formed is attached to the tip of a rotary shaft protruded approximately from the central part of the circular surface 3 thereof. Further, a nipping member 6 is arranged at the end part of the circular surface 3 and when brake operation is effected, an inner brake pad is nipped and pressured by the two sides of the brake disc 5 to brake rotation of a rotary shaft. Further, a support member 7 is protruded from the outer peripheral edge of the body part 2 and a sensor 8 is attached to the tip part thereof. By counting the number of teeth 4, 4..., passing in a unit time, by a sensor 8 from an output signal, the rotation speed of the rotary shaft is detectable.
