To provide a branch takeout joint drilling tool for allowing reliable and safe drilling work while solving problems with conventional branch takeout work.
When using the drilling tool 1 for opening a branch hole in an original pipe side wall, a shutter 61 is opened to communicate a cavity 106 in a cutter moving part 105 of a joint 100 with a casing 13 of a tool body 11. Then, a feed screw shaft 29 is operated to advance a cutter 41 in a cutter moving part 105 toward an original pipe 111. As advanced toward the original pipe 111, the cutter 41 cuts into the original pipe side wall located in a saddle part opening 102 of the joint 100 to form a cut-off port opened in the original pipe side wall after finishing cutting, as the branch hole. After cutting off the original pipe side wall, the feed screw shaft 29 is operated to return the cutter 41 toward the casing 13 together with the cut-off fragment. After the cutter 41 moves beyond the shutter 61, the shutter 61 is closed to close a cavity opening 106a in the cutter moving part 105.
