Title:
BRANCHING METHOD OF BUNCH FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60142315
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent optical fibers from flawing when single-core optical fibers are connected by fusion in bundling, and branching bunch fibers without deteriorating fiber strength by using optical fibers which are coated primarily.

CONSTITUTION: Single-core optical fibers which are coated thinnly and primarily are used for branching when connected mutually. The primary coat 4 uses, for example, urethane resin, epoxy resin, etc. The primary coat 4 is about 1μm thick and has such properties that it is vaporized in fusion connection mentioned hereafter and exerts no influence upon the fusion connection. The SPC element wire assembly end part where bunch fibers are connected forms a fixation part 5 by a proper method and the fusion connection with the bunch fibers is made. The single-core branching of the bunch fibers becomes possible after the connection. Further, optical fibers with the primary coat 4 are assembled to form a branch- side end part fixation part of similar constitution and a connection with the bunch fibers is also possible.
