Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [Y is -COOCH2- or -CO-CH2-, provided that -CO- group is linked to ring A; X is formula II or III (R1WR4 are H or acyl; R5 is 1W2C alkyl; * indicates the linking position of group X to the steroid nucleus, except when all R1WR4 are H or acetyl].
EXAMPLE: ( 22R,23R,24R )-2α-Acetoxy-3α,22,23-trihydroxy-B-homo-7-oxa-5α-ergos tan-6-one.
USE: A plant growth regulator.
PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula IV is oxidized, acylated and then oxidized to provide a compound expressed by formula V, which is then reacted with a compound expressed by formula VI (R6 is 1W2C alkyl). The obtained product is subsequently lactonized and then hydrolyzed.
