To provide an bread making machine with a convenient mechanism for making bread directly from grains.

A bread container 40 with a kneading blade 42 disposed inside is inserted into a baking chamber 30 disposed within a body 10 of the bread making machine 1. A rotating shaft 63 with a crushing blade 64 at the lower end is hung from a crushing motor 61 set on the ceiling of the baking chamber 30. The rotating shaft 63 and the crushing blade 64 are enclosed by a sheath 65. The bread container 40 is supported by an elevator 70 within the baking chamber 30. When the bread container 40 is lifted up by the elevator 70, the crushing blade 64 is inserted into the bread container 40 so that crushing of grains is ready within the bread container 40. After the crushing step, the bread container 40 with the crushed grains inside is lowered by the elevator 70, and the kneading step, fermentation step and baking step are carried out thereafter.
