To bread 4 in which a cut-in line 4a is formed horizontally by a rotating cutter 3, compressed air is blown toward the cut-in line 4a from the first air nozzle 10, so that the cut-in line 4a is pushed open. The bread 4 holds a spacer member 11, is moved to the downstream along a spacer part 13 by a conveyer 2, and reaches the position of the second air nozzle 16. Compressed air is blown upwards from the second air nozzle 16, therefore, the upper half of the bread 4 is pushed upward by compressed air and inverted to its opposite side. As a result, both the surfaces of the cut-in line 4a in the bread 4 are exposed completely.
