To provide a breakage preventing mechanism for a press-to-press transfer device, which prevents deformation or breakage of a transfer member or a crossbar and the like even if the positional deviation is caused in a pair of transfer members of the transfer device due to contact of the press device etc. with a die etc.

A breakage preventing mechanism 10 for a press-to-press transfer device includes: a pair of arms 11, which synchronously moves in parallel with each other; a crossbar 12, which is laid across the pair of arms; and an adaptor 13, which connects the arms 11 and the crossbar 12. The breakage preventing mechanism 10 for a press-to-press transfer device takes the following states: a normal state, in which the arms 11 and the crossbar 12 are fixed with the adaptor 13; a turning state, in which each of the arms 11 and the crossbar 12 becomes freely rotatable approximately around the adaptor 13; and a sliding state, in which the crossbar 12 becomes slidable on the arms 11. Conversion from the normal state to the turning state and/or sliding state is conducted by receiving prescribed external force.
