Title:
BREAKDOWN PREVENTING CIRCUIT FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICE AGAINST REVERSE INSERTION OF BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003339117
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent an electronic device from breaking down, even if a battery is inserted in reverse into the electronic device.

This breakdown preventing circuit (30) for an electronic device includes a cut-off circuit for cutting off a current running through the portable electronic device (20) from the battery (10), if a battery (10) is inserted in reverse into the portable electronic device (20). Specifically, the breakdown preventing circuit (30) includes a resistor (R) with a high resistance, of which one end is connected with a positive terminal (21) of the portable electronic device (20) and an n-channel field effect transistor (FET), connected in between the other end of the resistor and a negative terminal (22) of the portable electronic device (20).
