Abstract:
To provide a breaking device and a breaking method of a connecting rod capable of forming a prescribed breaking surface at high yield when breaking a large diameter part of a connecting rod into two parts.SOLUTION: A breaking device includes: clampers 510 and 520 for pressing bolt seat surfaces 921 and 922 of a large-diameter part before a large-diameter part 920 of a connecting rod 900 is broken, and for restricting movement of the large-diameter part in a direction orthogonal to a center-axis direction of the large-diameter part being broken in two during breaking. In addition, the breaking device includes clamper position-fixing movement-restricting parts 610 and 620 to keep pressing force of the clampers with respect to the bolt seat surfaces of the large-diameter part within a predetermined prescribed range before breaking of the connecting rod, and to prevent the clampers from moving in the direction orthogonal to the center axis direction of the large-diameter part of the connecting rod due to breaking force that the large-diameter part receives when breaking.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
