Abstract:
PURPOSE: To achieve lubrication of a bearing part of a crank shaft by a breather device as well as to enhance a breather function of the breather device provided on a crank case of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: Annular breather chamber 57 is formed on one side wall of a crank chamber 16 so as to surround the outer periphery of a bearing part 7 of a crank shaft 9, and a breather inlet 59 for communicating the breather chamber 57 with the crank chamber 16 is provided on the inner wall 571 of the breather chamber 57. A breather valve 60 for opening and closing the breather port 59 is formed on a crank web 94, and when a piston 12 is in the top dead center, the breather port 59 is closed, and back flow of blow-by gas in the breather chamber 57 to the crank chamber 16 is prevented. When the piston is in the bottom dead center, the breather port 59 is opened, and blow-by gas in the crank chamber 16 is allowed to flow into the breather chamber 57. Moreover, a breather outlet 61 is opened on the outer peripheral wall 572 of the breather chamber 57.
