Title:
BREATHER FOR FUEL TANK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61223262
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent inner pressure rise of tank effectively by providing two breather paths for communicating the upper space in fuel tank to the atmosphere then arranging a gate valve in one path while a plug body made of sintered material having countless fine holes in the other path.

CONSTITUTION: In a portable engine generator 1, the fuel tube 7 and the first breather tube 17c are brought into conductive condition upon opening of a fuel cock 8, to lead in the atmospheric pressure into a fuel tank 6 through the tube 17c and the communication tubes 15a, 15b. Consequently, the fuel in the fuel tank 6 is fed through a fuel tube 7 to a carburetor 4a. Upon stoppage of engine 4, the cooler will also stop to temporarily increase the engine temperature thus to heat the fuel tank 6. Consequently, upon increase of the inner pressure of tank, the air in the tank is discharged through the communication tubes 15a, 15b, second breather tube 17d, countless fine continuous holes in the plug body 18 made of sintered material and a filter 19 resulting in suppression of inner pressure rise.
