To provide a breather structure of an internal combustion engine capable of reducing the overall size of the internal combustion engine by reducing the size of a breather chamber.
This breather structure comprises a one side-surface cover 9 which is joined to a case 4 while covering one of the right and left side-surfaces of a case 4 and in which an auxiliary device chamber 25 for containing a clutch mechanism 115 for engaging and disengaging a power transmission route therein is formed. A breather chamber 30 in which an external communication port 92 communicating with the outside of a housing H is formed in the housing H and a small chamber 36 communicating with a crankcase 24 and the auxiliary device chamber 25 are formed in the housing H. The auxiliary device chamber 25 is communicated with the breather chamber 30.
