Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manage a multi-port configuration of a bridge and a topology of a spanning tree separately by constituting the bridge of a multi-processor and allowing the bridge to coexist ports for spanning tree protocol execution enable and for spanning tree protocol execution disable in mixture thereby improving relay performance.
CONSTITUTION: This bridge is provided with a spanning tree protocol mechanism 2 conducting a spanning tree protocol and one frame relay mechanism 51 or over implementing frame relay between terminal equipments and they are constituted by separate processors. The frame relay mechanisms 51, 61 are communicated with each other to match contents of filtering databases 53, 63 provided by the mechanisms 51, 61 with each other. The spanning tree protocol mechanism 2 and the frame relay mechanism 51 or the like store spanning tree operation mode information representing spanning tree protocol execution enable/ disable states.
