Abstract:
To provide a bridge expansion joint such as a highway bridge or the like having risk less than the conventional bridge expansion joint in relation to an accident.
The bridge expansion joint including a load supporting steel plate 2 and a fixing steel plate 3 is continuously formed by a shear deformation section 4 of a rubber material 1, the expansion of a distance of an expansion spacing 5 with the environmental temperature variation by a shear deformation of the shear deformation section 4 can be absorbed and, at the same time, a steel plate part 7 set so as to be damageable in comparison with the other steel plate part having load supporting and fixing functions is included.
