Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a bridge by minimizing social and economical losses and cutting expenditures on maintenance project costs together with construction costs per se.
SOLUTION: According to the bridge pier structure, a cross beam 13 constituting a T-shaped bridge pier 4 is divided at the center thereof and rendered horizontally foldable/expandable. Then a steel pier portion 12 of the cross beam 13 in a folded state is erected on a medial strip 11, and the cross beam 13 is expanded and laid over a road A, followed by rigidly connecting the steel pier portion 12 to a foundation portion 14 arranged on the medial strip 11.
