Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brightness adjusting device for adjusting brightness of a displayed image of a liquid crystal display device within a predetermined range.SOLUTION: A brightness adjusting device 1 includes a light source 11, a drive circuit 4, a brightness measurement part 20, a control part 3 and a camera 5. The light source 11 irradiates a liquid crystal display device 30 with illumination light La. The drive circuit 4 applies a drive voltage DV to the liquid crystal display device 30. The brightness measurement part 20 detects brightness of image light Lb produced by optical modulation of the illumination light La irradiating the liquid crystal display device 30, in response to the drive voltage DV, and generates a brightness detection signal BDS. The control part 3 generates an adjusted gradation signal TS in which gradation is adjusted so as to obtain the brightness of the image light Lb within a target range, based on the brightness detection signal BDS, and controls the drive circuit 4. The drive circuit 4 controls the drive voltage DV based on the adjusted gradation signal TS. The camera 5 photographs the image light Lb to generate an image data ID. The control part 3 inspects the liquid crystal display device 30 by analyzing the image light Lb.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
