Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a toothbrush bristle having improved flexibility and durability and made of precisely tapered PBT or PET which can remove dental plaque further effectively.
SOLUTION: This bristle production method is to produce bristle which is tapered from a position not more than 10 mm from the top of the bristle and has a diameter of 0.04-0.08 mm at the top of the tapered bristle. In this method, a bristle made of PBT or PET is cut in a desired length. The cut bristle is vertically immersed into a strong alkali or acid solution up to not more than 10 mm from the top of the bristle. The bristle is dissolved such that a tapered shape having a diameter of 0.10-0.15 mm at the top of the bristle is formed. The tapered bristle is washed with water. The washed bristle is dried. The top of the tapered bristle is rounded.
