To provide a video recorder which records broadcast video images automatically even without designating video recording individually to each program.

The present invention relates to an automatic video recorder of broadcast video images wherein a retrieval keyword featuring a program desired to record is designated. Whenever program information is updated, the video reorder collates the information with the retrieval keyword to prepare a reservation table of the program which becomes a candidate of video recording. Then, the video recorder records the video image data of the program of the candidate of video recording automatically at the time of starting broadcasting stored in the reservation table. Even if the number of channels of video images to be broadcasted is increased, the video recorder records the video images automatically without the need for a user to refer to a program table.
