To provide a broken yarn position measuring apparatus capable of measuring the position of broken yarn which allows clarifying of at what part of a process the broken yarn occurs.
The broken yarn position measuring apparatus for detecting the position of any broken yarn occurring at a specified section of running yarns comprises a tension detector which is installed at a reference position down from the specified section and contacts the running yarns to detect the tension of the running yarns at the specified section, a broken yarn occurrence detection means to detect the moment of the occurrence of the broken yarn from a tension signal of the tension detector, a broken yarn end part passage detection means to detect the moment of the passage of the broken yarn end part at the reference position from the tension signal and a position measuring means to measure the occurrence position of the broken yarn from the reference position based on the occurrence moment of the broken yarn from the broken yarn occurrence detection means and the passage moment from the broken yarn end part passage detection means.
