PURPOSE: To make it possible to easily fix a dustpan of any kind by insertion while facilitating the removal thereof by mounting an elastic body on a broom so as to open an upper part thereof.

CONSTITUTION: In the position of mounting an elastic body 2 on a broom, the part of the elastic body 2 is located on a bundling part 4 of a part for sweeping dust of the broom 1 or the part of the elastic body 2 (bar-shaped one possible) is located on the part 5 of a stick of the broom 1. Moreover, a part connected to the stick 5 of the bundling part 4 of a part for sweeping dust of the broom 1 is lengthened to allow the opening of an upper part thereof and the part 6 lengthened may be lengthened in one direction. In the method of mounting the elastic body 2 on the broom 1, the elastic body 2 is stuck on the broom 1 with an adhesive or the both may be put together by inserting a pin. The elastic body 2 is available in one sheet or in two sheets. When one of the two sheets contacting the broom is lengthened, it serves as guide to make insertion thereof.
