To provide a browsing terminal easily operable with either the right or left hand.

The browsing terminal 1 comprises a display part 10 outputting an image based on display data, wherein a use direction is determined by determining the top, bottom, right and left of the display part 10 according to the inclined direction of the browsing terminal 1 or instructions from a user. According to the determined use direction, the display data is output to the display part 10 so that the top of the display part 10 is on top of the image. Instructions are assigned to an operating part 20 equipped with a plurality of operating members for inputting instructions to the browsing terminal 1 to carry out various processing, according to the determined use direction and the kind of display data.
