To provide a brush holder device in which a brush holder can be fixed by caulking without fluctuations by a small caulking load irrespective of the presence or the absence of a through-hole.

A holder base 22 constituting the brush holder device 21 has a brush holder 31, formed by bending a metal plate fixed thereon. The brush holder 31 has a pair of fixing claws 46 for being fixed to the holder base 22 by caulking. Each bent return part 47 of the fixing claw 46 is bent and returned to the holder base 22 side going over the top of a projection 48 for caulking and projected from the rear surface 22b of the holder base 22.
