Abstract:
The invention relates to a brush holder for an electrical machine comprising a commutator (10), especially for a d.c. motor in motor vehicles. Said brush holder comprises a tube (15), a brush (17) which consists of two brush elements (21, 22) and is received in the tube (15) in an axially displaceable manner, and at least one brush pressure spring (16) which exerts pressure on the brush (17). In order to ensure a precise commutation, avoiding any lateral play between the brush (17) and the tube (15), the two brush elements are essentially cuboid and are arranged in the tube (15) in a parallel manner, projecting past the tube edge (151) on the commutator side. Expanding means engage between the interspaced brush elements (21, 22) in such a way that the opposing lateral surfaces (212, 222) of the two brush elements (21, 22) positively rest on opposite walls (152, 153) of the tube in the circumferential direction of the commutator (10).
