To provide a brush manufacturing apparatus in which a brush body and an engaging body are joined by friction pressure welding without impairing the configuration of bristles.
There is provided a brush manufacturing apparatus 1 for manufacturing a brush including: a brush body 210 which has a fused portion on the base end part of a plurality of bristles made from resin; and an engaging body 220 having an engaging portion 220 for engaging freely attachably/detachably with the mounting portion of a brush unit and joined to the fused portion 212 and made from resin. The apparatus includes: a clamp mechanism 10 radially clamping the fused portion 212 of the brush body 210 to restrain movement of the brush body 210; and a vibration mechanism 20 for vibrating the engaging body 220. Pressed to the fused portion 212 of the brush body 210 which is clamped by the clamp mechanism 10, the engaging body 220 is fused to the fused portion 212 of the brush body 210 by the vibration of the vibration mechanism 20.
