PURPOSE: To improve polishing force and wear resistance by forming a brush roll polishing body of bristles formed of filament prepared by mixing an extreme-pressure additive into resin together with abrasive grains.
CONSTITUTION: A polishing body 1 for a brush roll R is formed of bristles 1a or the like formed of filaments prepared by mixing a specified quantity of an extreme-pressure additive 10 into resin together with a specified quantity of abrasive grains 11 and formed by a monofilament forming method. The bristles 1a cut into specified length are planted on the peripheral surface of a brush disc 21 of ring shape, and the disc 21 with the bristles 1a planted thereon is mounted on a roll shaft 3 to form the polishing body 1 for the brush roller R. At this time, it is so specified that the intermixing quantity of the abrasive grains 11 is 5-40wt.%, the quantity of resin is 60wt.%, and the intermixing quantity of the extreme-pressure additive 10 is 0.05-5wt.% to the abrasive grains 11.
