The brush roller 1 includes a brush member 2 and a rotary shaft 3. The brush member 2 includes a long brush bristles 8 and is helically wound around the outer circumference of the rotary shaft 3. The rotary shaft 3 includes a roughly cylindrical inner cylinder 16 and a hollow outer cylinder 11 with the former inserted into the latter to form a two-layered structure. A plurality of inner holes 24 are formed on the specific positions of the outer circumference of a shaft member 17 constituting the inner cylinder 16, in a manner enabling themselves to overlap the corresponding outer holes 23 opened on the outer circumference of a body 12 constituting the outer cylinder 11 one after another in accordance with the rotation of the outer cylinder 11 and to eject a compressed fluid therethrough.
