Title:
BRUSH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04170903
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To sufficiently wash the deposits on the surface of articles having rugged surfaces by fixing abrasive grains via binder layers on the surface of twisted wires or stranded wires of flexible wires and fixing many brush wires to a rotating body.

CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical brush A fixed with the many brush wires 1 formed by doubling and twisting the flexible wires consisting of cotton yarn, synthetic fiber yarn, soft nylon, etc., is formed by incorporating the abrasive grains 2 of molten alumina, silicon carbide, artificial diamond, etc., into the binder layers 3 consisting of liquefied rubber or resin or adhesives, passing and sticking the brush wires therein, and solidifying the binder layers 3. The binder layers 3 intrude into recessed parts 4 formed in the twisting spaces of the twisted wires and, therefore, the abrasive grains 2 are strongly fixed at a high density to the brush wires 1. The thickness of the binder layers 3 is set at about 1/2 to 2/3 the diameter of the abrasive grains 2 and the abrasive grains 2 are held partly exposed to the outside. The brush wires 1 having flexibility are deflected by their resilience and move by following up the rugged surface B. The front ends of these wires intrude well into the recessed parts as well. The deposits C are thus smoothly scraped off.
