To provide a brushless motor capable of smooth rotation with small torque ripples and a stable output while a magnetic pole position can be detected accurately.
A brushless motor includes a stator 22 fed with a driving current for generating a rotating magnetic field, a rotor 17 with a magnet 21 driven rotatively in a rotating field generated by the stator 22, and a magnetic pole position sensor 23 for detecting a rotating magnetic field of the rotor 17 and detecting the position of the rotor 17. The magnet 21 includes a detecting field generating part 21b used for detection of the rotating position by the rotating position sensor 23, and a driving field generating part 21b used for generating a magnetic field in rotating drive in the rotating magnetic field of the stator 22. In addition, the detecting field generating part 21a and the driving field generating part 21b are differently magnetized.
