To provide a high-performance brushless motor by suppressing the variation in magnetic balance during rotation of a rotor.
A rotor 6 has a plurality of magnetic poles 10 having the same polarity and being arranged at equal intervals in the peripheral direction of the rotor. Gaps 14 (14a and 14b) are formed at both ends in the peripheral direction of each magnetic pole 10 so that an iron core 16 magnetically partitioned from each magnetic pole 10 is formed between the magnetic poles 10 adjacent to each other in the peripheral direction. The rotating direction of the rotor 6 is specified in one direction. The gaps 14 (14a and 14b) include a first gap 14a formed in the rotating direction of the rotor and a second gap 14b formed in the counter-rotating direction of the rotor 6. The circumferential width W1 of the first gap is set to be greater than the circumferential width W2 of the second gap.
