PURPOSE: To provide a thin and highly heat resistant brushless motor for AV machine having reduced number of components.

CONSTITUTION: Ferromagnetic electric resistance films 11, 21 are arranged, together with a driving coil, on a stator substrate 5 at the outside of a rotor magnet 1 and closely thereto. Isotropic directions of the films 11, 21 are inclined by 30-60° from the center line C of a rotor shaft, as shown by D and E, and a bias field 19 is applied vertically to the center line C. Variation of resistances of the films 11, 21, due to positional variation of the rotor, is then fed in the form of a signal to a driving circuit which then switches the current and rotates a motor.
