To provide a brushroll capable of uniformly cleaning, washing, polishing, grinding, and surface treating a surface to be cleaned by neither lowering the rigidity of the bristle material for a brush due to heat and water absorbing under high temperature nor splashing the stain such as a washing liquid and dust on the surface to be cleaned to the inside of a washing machine.

In the brushroll for cleaning, washing, polishing, grinding, and surface treating a steel plate, a nonferrous metal plate, a resin plate, a glass plate, or a film shape resin composition or others: the brushroll has a brush portion and a base; the base has a body portion where the brush portion is formed in its outer peripheral surface, a joint portion A connected to both the ends of the body portion, and a joint portion B; an opening portion whose opening area is changed from small one to large one as coming closer to the joint portion B side from the joint portion A side is formed such that a fluid passing in a direction from the joint portion A to the joint portion B; and a hole portion in communication with the opening portion is formed in the outer peripheral surface of the body portion.
