Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a buckle with high safety, by which a safety belt can be simply put on a wearer.
CONSTITUTION: The tongue piece 6 of a buckle is inserted in a main body 7, and the latch 10 of the main body 7 is engaged with the lock hole 9 of the tongue piece 6, whereby the tongue piece 6 and the main body 7 can be locked together. An operating member 23 for releasing the lock action of the latch 10 is provided on the main body 7, and adapted to move between the standby position and the release position, the moving direction of which is the same as the longitudinal direction of a safety belt 8. A stopper 30 for the operating member 23 is provided on the operating member 23 and adapted to move between a first position and a second position, the moving direction of which is the same as the cross-direction of the safety belt 8. When the stopper 30 is put in the first position, the shoulder part is engaged with the engaging part of the main body 7, and the operating member 23 is locked in its standby position. When the stopper 30 is pun in the second position, the shoulder part is not engaged with the engaging part of the main body 7 so as to allow the movement of the operating member 23.
