PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail device which allows a user to grip the handrail and stand in front of a Buddhist altar, for allowing a person who seats in front of the Buddhist altar to use the handrail device for gripping the handrail device and standing up.SOLUTION: A handrail device 2 comprises: a guide member 21 installed toward a depth direction of the Buddhist altar on a position where hands of a person who seats in front of the Buddhist altar on a front face 1a of the Buddhist altar can reach the handrail device; and a slide member 25 capable of being slid in a cross direction to the guide member 21 and having on a front end part thereof, a handle 27 which can be gripped by the hand of a person. The handrail device 2 can slide the slide member 25 in the cross direction so as to extend and retreat the handle 27 between a retreat position being along the front face 1a of the Buddhist altar, and a projection position where the handle can be gripped by a person who seats in front of the Buddhist altar, and in the state in which the slide member 25 is slid forward, the handle 27 positioned on the projection position can be pressed downward by the hand of the person who seats in front of the Buddhist altar, thereby, the person who seats in front of the Buddhist altar can grip and stand up by using a part of the Buddhist altar itself (handrail device 2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
