To provide a buffer having lightweight suitable for a road sports type bicycle and reducing shock without generating movements to give discomfort in a handle.
A buffer 1 is mounted at an upper end of a steering column 54 which extends upward from a front fork 52 supporting a front wheel 51 and turns together with the front fork 52 in relation to a head tube 53 of a frame. The buffer 1 includes a main stem 3 and a substem 4 which are arranged in the vertical direction from the steering colum 54 side and extends forward. Rear sections of the main stem 3 and the substem 4 are journaled so as to vertically oscillate the front section sides, and a handle receiving tool 5 supporting a handle bar 56 is journaled in the front sections of the main stem 3 and the substem 4 in such a manner that axis lines connecting between coupling points of the steering column 54 side and the handle receiving tool 5 side in each of the main stem 3 and the substem 4 are parallel and the distances between the coupling points are the same. The main stem 3 and the substem 4 are energized in a direction oscillating the front section sides upward by a buffer spring 14.
